The tale starts as Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) arrives in New York in the early 1920s in search of the American dream and hopes of becoming a successful writer.Nick then moves in next door to millionaire Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) who at first sight has everything but Nick, as any good writer, suspects that there is more to Gatsby’s story as their friendship grows so does Nick’s unease with New Yorks rich society and the obscenities they get up too and Nick worries for his friend Gatsby.
